Dozens of residents were displaced Thursday by a multi-family building fire in East Boston, fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived at around 5 a.m. to battle the fire at 151 Saratoga St, according to the Boston Fire Department. The fire spread across multiple floors, leaving the surrounding buildings exposed as the blaze continued.

By around 5:46 a.m., firefighters had made progress against the fire, officials said on X.

Within 20 minutes, the fire was mostly put out, with firefighters still “chasing hot spots,” according to an X post.

The fire displaced 33 residents, but no injuries were reported, officials said. The American Red Cross of Massachusetts assisted with securing housing for the displaced residents.
