Methuen police are searching for a 15-year-old boy who disappeared last week, just as a severe winter storm hit the region.
Jostin Burgos’ family reported him missing on Feb. 15, police said. Investigators described Burgos as 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds, with brown eyes, long black hair, and a dark complexion.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black ski mask, black sweatpants, and black sneakers, police said.
A family friend told Boston 25 News that Burgos never came home after visiting a friend’s house on Jackson Street in Lawrence and that the boy’s phone was out of service.
The friend also told the news outlet that Burgos’ disappearance is “completely out of the ordinary” and that “his family is desperately wanting their son home and safe.”
Burgos’ aunt, Dennisse Gonzalez, shared a photo of the boy on Facebook and asked for help spreading the word.
“Please help us find Jostin, my 15-year-old nephew, who has been missing since late afternoon, Saturday, February 15, 2025. We are extremely worried about his safety and need any information that could help bring him home,” Gonzalez wrote on Feb. 17.
In another post, Gonzales said Burgos had never gone missing before.
“I know many of you have asked if he has ever done this before, and the answer is no — this is completely out of character for him. Please continue to share and keep him in your thoughts,” she wrote, adding that the family is “holding onto hope.”
Anyone with information about Burgos’ whereabouts should contact the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8698.
