A JetBlue airline pilot was pulled off a plane and arrested at Logan International Airport Thursday shortly before the aircraft took off for Paris, officials said.
Jeremy Gudorf, 33, of Ohio, was arrested around 8:40 p.m. after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials reviewed the flight’s manifest and discovered he had an active warrant out of North Carolina for second-degree sexual exploitation of a child, according to Massachusetts State Police.
“In conducting their standard review of the manifest of a Boston-to-Paris flight, CBP identified an active North Carolina warrant lodged against a member of the flight crew who was detained,” State Police said in a statement.
Gudorf was arraigned Friday in Boston Municipal Court on a fugitive from justice charge. He pleaded not guilty and was given $10,000 bail, according to a Boston Globe report. Gudorf must report to North Carolina by Tuesday to face those charges. He is also due back for a court date in Massachusetts on March 19.
Details about Gudorf’s child sexual exploitation charges were not made available.
JetBlue said they had placed Gudorf on “indefinite leave.”
“We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots upon reporting for work at Boston’s Logan Airport Thursday evening due to an outstanding warrant,” JetBlue said in a statement. “The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave as law enforcement proceeds with the matter.”
