A man died after being shot on Ridgewood Street in Dorchester on Tuesday evening, Boston police said.
At approximately 7:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot and found an adult male “suffering from a gunshot wound,” police said in a press release.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.
As of Wednesday evening, the victim’s identity has not been released and no arrests have been made, according to police.
The department’s homicide unit is actively investigating the circumstances of the shooting and urges anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4470. Community members can also call the department’s CrimeStoppers tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS or text “TIP” to CRIME (27463), police said.
