Two teens stabbed outside Boston Prep after basketball game
Both teens sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Two teenagers were stabbed outside the Boston Preparatory Charter School in Hyde Park Thursday after a basketball game, according to officials.
Officers responded to the school shortly before 7:40 p.m. for a reported stabbing and found a 17-year-old boy with a stab wound that was not life-threatening, the Boston Police Department said in a statement. Officers provided first aid at the scene until the boy could be brought to a local hospital for further care.
Boston police were later notified that a second teen, an 18-year-old male, had gone to a hospital to be treated for stab wounds that were not life-threatening, according to the statement. He had also been injured outside Boston Prep, police said.

No arrests have been made, and police said an investigation is ongoing.
In a message to families, Boston Prep executive director Meekerley Sanon said the stabbings happened outside the school building, shortly after a boys’ basketball game ended.
“Staff on site worked quickly to disperse the crowd, secure the space and ensure the safety of all individuals present,” Sanon wrote. “At this moment, we are working closely with Boston Police Department and all relevant parties. The school has been secured and there is no ongoing threat to our community.”
Classes would go on as scheduled Friday with increased support from school staff and police, she added.

“Incidents such as this are traumatic for all involved, and we will be offering support to all who have been affected by this incident,” Sanon wrote. “Our counseling team will be on-site and accessible, as needed. We will continue to work diligently to ensure all Boston Prep community members have access to a safe learning environment where they can be their best selves and do their best work.”
