A Massachusetts woman died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, officials said.
She was identified Sunday as Kathleen Tascione, 74, of Bellingham. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of an Ocean State Job Lot at 1919 Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket. The complex, just over the state line, also includes a Tractor Supply Co. and an Applebee’s.
“She was transported to Landmark Hospital where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries,” said Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates in an email to Boston.com.
The accident remains under investigation by the Woonsocket Police Department’s accident reconstruction team, Oates said. The motorist, who has not been identified, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
