A shooting threat targeted to Garfield Middle School in Revere was determined to be unfounded, police said.

On Sunday evening, a 24-hour online school threat monitoring team released a statement from Dallas, Texas, flagging a “potential unspecified threat” from social media to the Massachusetts middle school.

The team, called The One in Five Foundation for Kids, was formed after the 2022 mass school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and aims to prevent violence from schools across the U.S.

Officials at the foundation wrote in a statement that the message appeared on Snapchat and in several Facebook groups. They notified local law enforcement and school officials of the message.
