A 67-year-old Sudbury man was found dead in a frozen brook Wednesday night after being reported missing earlier that day.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s office did not release the identity of the man.
Sudbury firefighters wrote in a Facebook post that all companies were responding to an incident near Codjer Lane and a dive team had been requested.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office wrote in a statement. There were no obvious signs of trauma to the man’s body despite freezing temperatures, officials added.
Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix told MetroWest Daily News that the man had been reported missing earlier on Wednesday and said preliminarily that the incident did “not appear to be any criminality.”
The case was referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the man’s cause and manner of death, the Middlesex County District Attorney’s wrote.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner did not respond for comment.
