Hundreds of skiers decked out in Santa garb took to the Sunday River slopes in Newry, Maine this weekend as part of “Santa Sunday.”
It’s no joke.
“Participants must be wearing all of the following items: a red Santa hat with white pompom, a red Santa jacket, red Santa pants, a Santa beard,” the event page reads.
The event raises money for The River Fund, a Maine-based nonprofit that creates educational and recreational experiences for students and families. The Santas gathered at South Ridge, traveled up the South Ride Express together, and then skied down Broadway for sideline spectators.
