A man in Chesterfield died on Sunday when he crashed a snowmobile into a tree in an early-morning crash, authorities said.
The Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan’s office identified the man as Derek Graves, 37. Graves was driving his snowmobile around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday when he crashed into a tree and sustained “critical injuries,” the statement said.
A friend driving behind Graves called 911, and first responders took the victim to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton where he later died, Sullivan’s office said.
The accident remains under investigation, authorities said.
