West Bridgewater man who lived at daycare pleads guilty to child porn charges

Juan Levano, 24, pleaded guilty to two federal charges connected to child pornography.

A West Bridgewater man who was allegedly living at a residential daycare pleaded guilty to child pornography charges Wednesday.

Juan Levano, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy announced Thursday. He was arrested in December of 2023.

Prosecutors said they determined Levano to be a likely user of an internet-based communications application used for trafficking child pornography, where he participated in groups that disseminated child pornography.

Levano admitted to getting child pornography on the chat application, and a review of his phone showed the exchange of pornography including children from infancy to 13 years old, prosecutors said. Investigators found more than 100 video and image files, most which depicted child pornography, on his phone.

Prosecutors searched his room, which he was renting at a residential daycare. The owner of the daycare and residence, as well as Levano, both told investigators that he did not have any contact with the children at the daycare, according to prosecutors.

The charge of child pornography carries a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Possession carries the same.

Anyone with questions, concerns or information regarding the case should call prosecutors at 617-784-3274.
