Attleboro elementary teacher suspended after altercation with students

“This is disheartening news, as the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority.” 

An Attleboro elementary teacher has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly slapping two students last week, according to school officials.

According to The Sun Chronicle, the incident took place in a Thacher Elementary School classroom.

“The district administration was immediately informed, and an investigation was launched in accordance with district procedures,” Superintendent David Sawyer told the paper. “The district also notified the Attleboro Police Department and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.” 

The teacher allegedly involved has been placed on administrative leave, according to school officials.

“This is disheartening news, as the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” Sawyer told the paper.
