A 30-year-old woman was hospitalized after driving a pickup truck into the Merrimack River in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, officials say.
Just before 3 p.m., State Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle in a river due to a crash on Circumferential Highway in Nashua, according to a statement from the New Hampshire State Police.
A preliminary investigation determined that a white 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck collided with another vehicle while changing lanes before hitting a guardrail on the left side of Circumferential Highway westbound, police said.
The pickup truck then drifted over the guardrail and rolled down into the Merrimack River where it “stopped right-side up,” the statement said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a Merrimack woman, exited the truck while the vehicle was partially submerged, authorities said. She was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the crash, police said several lanes were closed on the westbound side of the Sagamore Bridge while the vehicle was removed from the river.
The crash remains under investigation.
