A Worcester man was charged Tuesday for sexually exploiting two underage girls and filming himself assaulting them, officials said.
Antonio Merced, 26, is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the office of Acting United States Attorney Joshua Levy. Prosecutors allege that on July 13, 2024, he created video recordings of himself sexually assaulting two girls.
The 26-year-old was previously arrested in September 2024 and charged in Worcester District Court on two counts of aggravated rape of a child, three counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor, and one count each of open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior, dissemination of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), intimidation, and enticing a child under 16.
Merced is currently in state custody related to those charges, according to prosecutors.
The federal charge he is facing, sexual exploitation of a minor, can result in up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
