Authorities identify pedestrian killed in Randolph collision

The Norfolk District Attorney identified the victim as Alexander Archie, of Brockton, on Tuesday.

A car crash in Randolph on Sunday night left a pedestrian dead, authorities said.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, when an SUV driving on North Main Street near Gordon Street hit Alexander Archie, 56, of Brockton. First responders took Archie to Milton Hospital where he died of his injuries shortly after 11 p.m., the statement said.

Authorities did not immediately identify Archie after the crash as they searched for next of kin, who authorities said did not live in the state.

The driver of the SUV, a 57-year-old Brockton resident, stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators, the statement said. No charges were filed as of Monday.
