A woman died Wednesday in a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus in Walpole, New Hampshire, authorities said.
At 3:13 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Connector Road on Route 12 in Walpole, according to a statement from the department.
An initial investigation showed that a 2006 Saab 9-3 was traveling south and crossed over the yellow center line when it hit a 2017 Chevrolet Collins school bus traveling north, the statement said.
The driver of the Saab, Dietrich Kern Praska, 22, of Marlborough, New Hampshire, died at the scene, police said.
The bus, owned by Fall Mountain School District, was operated by Marie Robbins, 65, of Alstead, New Hampshire, the department said. Robbins was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Two students on the bus were taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, New Hampshire, and to Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vermont for “minor injuries,” according to the statement.
The conditions of those injured are not known, authorities said, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
