Coast Guard searching for missing sailor and vessel off Cape Cod
The Coast Guard Northeast announced the search and rescue for the sailor on Sunday afternoon. The boat last made contact on Thursday.
Officials are searching for a missing sailor and his 48-foot boat off the coast of Cape Cod, the Coast Guard announced.
The U.S. Coast Guard Northeast announced a search and rescue in progress just after 3 p.m. Sunday. The 48-foot sailing vessel “Alchemist” has one sailor on board and was last seen near Pleasant Bay near Chatham, they said.
The guard said the sailing boat, which was last contacted Thursday, has a green hull and a green bimini, which is a canvas or fabric top to the boat.
