A driver allegedly involved in a deadly crash on Saturday in Methuen is being charged for leaving the scene, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
The office said Katrina Nguyen, 26, left the crash scene and later turned herself in at the Lawrence Police Department.
Nguyen is being charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, leaving the scene resulting in death, leaving the scene with personal injury, leaving the scene with property damage, and operating a motor vehicle after suspension.
Nguyen was scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence Superior Court on Monday.
According to the DA’s office, the crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on I-495 north.
Massachusetts State Police troopers and Methuen fire personnel responded to the call and found several people trapped in a heavily damaged pickup truck.
A 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 41-year-old man who was taken by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital was later pronounced dead.
Two other people in the truck were taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The names of those who died are not being released at this time, pending family notifications.
