Authorities arrested a Cohasset man who allegedly painted a swastika on a Trump sign on Wednesday night, police said in a social media post.
The suspect was identified by Cohasset police as 74-year-old Franklin Laidlaw. According to police, Laidlaw allegedly drew a swastika on a “political sign.”

Photos obtained by WCVB News show the sign to be for former President Donald Trump. Police said the sign was located on Route 3A.
Laidlaw faces one felony charge for vandalizing property and pleaded not guilty on Thursday, court documents show. Representation for the suspect did not immediately reply to a request for comment. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, Cohasset police confirmed.
