Driver says GPS led him to drive Mustang onto Green Line tracks

Police said the tracks were inspected and cleared for use after the incident.

A Ford Mustang became stuck on Green Line tracks in Boston during Wednesday’s predawn hours, according to authorities.

Transit police said the vehicle had to be towed around 3:30 a.m. from the scene on the 1400 block of Beacon Street. The 43-year-old driver allegedly told police that he was following his GPS when it instructed him to turn too soon, landing him on the tracks.

Police said the tracks were inspected and cleared for use after the incident.
