First responders rescued a hiker Sunday afternoon who was seriously injured at the Rocky Narrows Reservation in Sherborn, officials say.
At 4:19 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the reservation off Forest Street for a report of an injured hiker, according to a statement from the Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department.
The hiker was found about one mile into the woods with “significant injuries,” the statement said.

Medical interventions began within 18 minutes of the dispatch to the incident.
The Sherborn Fire Department drove a UTV about three-quarters of the way to the patient, the statement said, and crews had to carry the hiker from the incident scene about one-quarter of a mile back to the UTV over “difficult terrain.”
UMass Memorial LifeFlight, a medical helicopter, landed at the Pine Hill School to transport the patient to a trauma center, the department said.
Seventeen members of the Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department responded, including the Drone Unit, as well as Sherborn police.
Mutual aid from Dover, Framingham, Holliston, Millis, Ashland, and Natick also assisted in the rescue.
“The response to today’s incident in Sherborn demonstrates why the departments in our region regularly train together,” the Holliston Fire Department said in a statement. “Personnel from multiple agencies worked together to seamlessly complete the incident objectives.”
