A Dorchester man is facing charges after he allegedly hit and killed a woman in Milton while drinking and driving Sunday night, officials said.
Wallace Wilson, 65, is charged with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor and negligence and leaving the scene of personal injury and death, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced Monday.
Wilson allegedly struck a pedestrian around 164 Reedsdale Road in Milton around 6 p.m. Sunday night. Donna Clarke, 68, was found severely injured and later died at a nearby hospital, according to reports.
Milton police spoke to a driver of a Toyota SUV about 20 minutes after they first responded to the scene. The SUV was damaged, and Wilson allegedly made statements linking him to the incident, NBC 10 Boston reported.
Wilson pleaded not guilty in court Monday and was released on bail. He will be back in court Nov. 26 for a probable cause hearing.
