Authorities ask for the public’s help in identifying a driver who struck a police officer on Saturday night, Reading police said.

The department said an officer was conducting a routine traffic stop around 7:29 p.m. near 326 Lowell Street at Willow Street. Police said the officer was struck in the elbow by a passing pickup trucks’ side view mirror. The car was driving east on Lowell Street and turned south on Willow Street, police said.

The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, the post said. Reading police said the pickup truck is red with a black rear bumper and has a light strip across the tailgate. Authorities urge residents to check their video cameras or video doorbells for any videos of the incident.
