Authorities responded to a serious accident involving a rider at a horse farm in West Newbury on Thursday, officials say.
At 11:11 a.m., West Newbury fire and police and Atlantic Ambulance responded to the Indian Meadow Farm Boarding and Training Center at 168 Garden St. for a report of an injured rider, according to a statement from authorities.
The rider was injured when she was thrown from a horse at the farm, the statement said.
The victim, a 34-year-old woman, suffered “serious injuries,” officials said, and was treated on scene.
The woman was then taken to Cammett Park where she was flown by Boston Medflight to a regional trauma center, officials said.
The Groveland Fire Department provided mutual aid at the landing zone.
