A diver died in the water off Front Beach in Rockport on Saturday, officials say.
At 11:30 a.m., authorities received a call for a diver in distress in that area, according to a statement from the town.
The call came from the partner diver.
Rockport harbormasters and police were dispatched to the scene and found the unresponsive individual, the statement said.
The responders initiated CPR and transported the individual, identified as Malak Hanna, 50, of Shrewsbury, to Addison Gilbert Hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
The incident is under investigation.
