“Life moves pretty fast,” the West Yarmouth native said in the opening of the video.

Meehan, 60,  said he was at a “beautiful event” in Gillette Stadium on Thursday. The event was a gala with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting cancer patients.

Meehan, who is a cancer survivor, said he was hospitalized later that evening. In the video, he said a blockage in his bowel caused him to call an ambulance.

At the hospital, he said, he had a hose that went up his nose and into his stomach for around 30 hours to clear the blockage.

“That was not fun,” he said.

Meehan currently co-anchors Channel 5’s weekday morning EyeOpener newscast.
