Lynn man charged with threatening to kill elected official, sent more than 80 messages
The man was charged with transmitting interstate threats.
A Lynn man was arrested for allegedly making numerous threats to an elected official, including threatening to murder the official and their family, the US Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
Justin David Gaglio, 50, was charged by criminal complaint with one count of transmitting interstate threats, according to a statement from the office.
Gaglio was arrested on Sept. 27 and attended a detention hearing on Sept. 30, authorities said. Gaglio remains in federal custody.
The charging document says starting around January 2023, Gaglio messaged the victim through online submissions on their website, submitting a total of over 80 messages, the statement said.
On or about Sept. 8, Gaglio allegedly threatened to murder the victim and their family, officials said.

The charge of transmitting interstate threats, according to the statement, carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
