Six individuals have been indicted for murder in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting in Lynn last month that killed two and injured five others, with two of the suspects to be arraigned this week, officials announced Tuesday.
On Sept. 2, Jandriel Heredia, 21, of Revere, and Abraham Diaz, 25, of Lynn were shot and killed at 189 Essex St., and five others sustained injuries, according to a statement from the Essex District Attorney.
The six defendants were arrested following an investigation into the shooting.
In Superior Court in Salem on Friday, Leonardo Espinoza, 15, of Lynn will be arraigned on two counts of murder, the statement said, and Darwin Batista, 20, of Lynn, will be arraigned on two counts of murder, four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury.
The four other individuals indicted in the case — Justin Alba, 25, of Peabody, and Lynn residents Yefferson Vallecillo Cambar, 22, Carlos Ramirez Corniel, 16, and Abel Severino Reyes, 21 — are expected to be arraigned at a later date, authorities said.
Assistant District Attorney Jessica Strasnick will prosecute the cases on behalf of the Commonwealth, the office said.
