An apparent drowning victim was found near the Bass River Yacht Club on Tuesday, according to Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur.
At around noon, Beverly police and fire were called to the yacht club at 10 McPherson Drive for a report of a possible drowning.
Upon arrival, first responders found a body in the water. The Beverly Fire Department Dive Team retrieved the body and transported it to Beverly Hospital.
The Beverly Police Department, in collaboration with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the death. A preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play.
