Joseph, who is also a former U.S. Representative for Massachusetts, said Ethel is comfortable and getting “the best care possible.”
“She is, as you may know, a strong woman who has led a remarkably fulfilling life,” Joseph said in the post. “We are here looking after her.”
He also shared that his 96-year-old grandmother had a “great summer” and spent lots of time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members.
“It has been a gift to all of us and to her as well,” Joseph said in the post.
Ethel was married to Robert F. Kennedy from 1950 until his assassination in 1968. The couple had 11 children, one of which is recent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Joseph asked for the public to keep his family in their prayers while Ethel recovers.
