A 17-year-old Brockton High School student is facing charges after he allegedly showed a firearm on school grounds.

The student, whose name was not released, was arrested Wednesday after the school’s administrators were notified of the incident, according to a MassLive report citing the Brockton Police Department.

The student was walking Tuesday in an area of Campanelli Stadium, which touches school property, when he allegedly showed the gun, according to the report. Police located him in a car in the school’s parking lot and arrested him, according to officials.

The teen is facing a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, though more charges may follow, MassLive reported. Police were unable to locate the gun, which is not believed to have ever been inside the school building, according to officials. No injuries were reported.
