A 45-year-old woman from Pittsburgh crashed into a Massachusetts State Police cruiser in Newton on Monday night, officials say.
At around 9:30 p.m., the woman, driving a Subaru Forester, struck the cruiser at a detail on the Mass. Pike west at Mile 126, according to a statement from State Police.
The Forester rear ended the cruiser, the statement said, injuring the trooper inside.
The trooper was taken to a local hospital to be treated. The driver of the Forester was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of liquor.
