A diamond ring? $10K in cash? These are some of the oddest items left behind on MBTA trains.

Clothing is the most common item turned in at the South Station lost and found closet, but there have been a few... unusual finds, as well.

More on the MBTA:

Anyone forget a drone on an MBTA train? What about $10,000 in cash?

Those are just two of the most bizarre and memorable items that have turned up at the South Station lost and found closet, per a commuter rail spokesperson.

The MBTA recently took to social media with a PSA informing riders who to call when they’ve left something behind on public transit. (Heads up, there are separate phone numbers for the various subway, bus, train, and ferry lines).

The lost and found closet at South Station is just for items left behind on the commuter rail, the spokesperson clarified; the subway and bus lines have their own lost and found repositories.

Finds are typically held for 30 days before unclaimed items are handed over to Goodwill, the spokesperson explained. Electronics, however, are sent off for secure processing and recycling offsite.

While the spokesperson said clothing is the most common item turned in, a few notable finds include: $10,000 in cash, a diamond engagement ring from a recent proposal, a drone, a bike, and a matching set of Hermès luxury items.

All were returned to their rightful owners.
