Boston Mayor Michelle Wu — a talented pianist who’s honed her skills from a very young age — showed off her musical chops on Saturday, performing with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall.
Saturday’s event was Wu’s second performance at the free Concert for the City event.
Community groups performed outdoors at 12 p.m. before the 3 p.m. concert, which featured the Boston Children’s Chorus, Veronica Robles and her all-female Mariachi Ensemble, and musicians of the Boston Festival Orchestra, followed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.
The show closed with the Boston Pops, where Wu was a featured guest artist along with vocalist Renese King.
Last year, Wu performed one movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, and this year she played George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody In Blue” with the Boston Pops.
