Two teens who allegedly shot multiple people with airsoft rifles in Somerville this week were identified and located by police Wednesday, multiple outlets reported.
Somerville police told Channel 7 News that teenage boys, ages 13 through 15, were masked while riding bicycles and shooting projections at people on Tuesday and Wednesday, including at a person holding an infant.
The projectiles were water beads, WHDH reported.
The first victim was injured Tuesday by the projectiles at the intersection of Prospect Street and Somerville Avenue, WCVB reported. Later that day, another person was shot on the Community Path near Gilman and Walnut streets. Both victims reportedly had minor injuries.
The following day, a person was shot on Broadway in the eye, Boston 25 News reported. WHDH reported that the victim was a Somerville Department of Public Works employee and was taken to the hospital.
Two more people were shot at Lincoln Park near Argenziano School while one was holding a baby.
Somerville police detained two of the teens but are investigating if others are involved, the news stations reported. Channel 7 reporter Steve Cooper shared a video of the teens talking to police on social media, and a teacher was sitting with the teens.
