Anonymous threat, later deemed not credible, temporarily shut down Bridgewater high school
Police are investigating after a parent reported they received a threat to their child on Thursday.
Officials issued a shelter-in-place order at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School Thursday after a parent reported that they received a phone call threatening their child with a weapon, but police deemed the threat not credible.
According to Bridgewater police, a parent went to the high school around noon on Thursday to report that they received the threatening phone call. School officials ordered the school to shelter in place and immediately contacted local police.
Investigators conducted multiple searches of the campus and determined there was no credible threat to the school community. At 1:45 p.m., officials lifted the shelter-in-place order, and all students were dismissed.

Bridgewater police said they were actively investigating the incident and are working to identify a suspect. As of Friday evening, no charges had been announced.
