A Massachusetts State Police recruit became unresponsive during a training exercise Thursday, State Police reported Friday.
The 90th Recruit Training Troop member at the Massachusetts State Police Academy in New Braintree became unresponsive during a defensive tactics training exercise, police said.
The academy’s onsite medical team, including staff from UMass Medical, immediately responded and rendered aid to the trainee. The team determined urgent medical care was needed and transported the trainee by ambulance to a local hospital. Medical staff continue to evaluate him.
State Police say they will provide more information when available.
