Two puppies stolen from Bellingham last week have now been reunited with their owners.
The micro American bullies — each valued at about $3,000 — were anonymously dropped off at MSPCA-Angell West in Waltham, Bellingham Police Lt. Stephen Daigle said in a Saturday update. The dogs were left in a box outside the facility with a note that read “Bellingham PD,” according to Daigle.
The puppies’ owner picked them up and confirmed they were the missing dogs, he said.
Authorities are still searching for whoever took the puppies from a home on North Street on Aug. 24. Bellingham police previously said a neighboring business spotted two men nearby around the time the puppies went missing.
“We will continue to investigate this situation to find the responsible parties,” Daigle said.
The dogs’ owners told WHDH they’ve since stepped up security around their property.
“I never thought that someone would just come into my yard and … just steal my dogs, but we’re happy now that we have our dogs back,” Kymberlin Calderon told the local news station.
The 3-month-old puppies, named Ghost and Lucy, have also been reunited with their siblings and mother, WHDH reported.
“My wife and I were shaking kind of, tears coming down as well. It was a very, very good feeling,” owner Jose Gudiel reportedly said of the reunion.
