50-year-old arrested in Jamaica Plain stabbing

A man was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Boston police.

A 50-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing Sunday night in Jamaica Plain that injured another man.

Alex Pena, of Hyde Park, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Boston police said officers responded around 9:42 p.m. on Sunday to the area of 383 Centre St. for a report of a person stabbed. At the scene, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said officers broadcasted a description of the suspect in the incident and a fleeing vehicle. Just before 10 p.m. a vehicle matching the description was located and stopped by officers near 1251 Hyde Park Ave. The vehicle’s only occupant, later identified as Pena, was arrested. Police said it was later determined the 50-year-old’s license was suspended.
