A 78-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash heading northbound on I-495 Thursday afternoon, officials announced.
The motorcyclist, who was not identified, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash near exit 83 in Westford, Massachusetts State Police said.
Officials said that the motorcyclist was traveling in the center lane around 3:30 p.m., but when he switched into the left lane, he hit the back of an SUV that was stopped in traffic. The motorcycle then collided into a third vehicle, MSP said.
The drivers of both of the passenger vehicles were uninjured, officials said.
