A 57-year-old man from Chatham died after being struck by an oncoming truck on Route 6 Monday afternoon, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
At around 3:15 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash with serious injuries on Route 6 eastbound, near Exit 85 in Brewster.
A preliminary investigation by State Police determined that a 2020 Isuzu truck, operated by a 24-year-old man from Yarmouth, was traveling westbound when it crossed the single-lane highway into the eastbound lane and struck a 2006 Toyota Tundra.
The Tundra was operated by Edward Footer, who died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The Isuzu truck also struck a 1997 GMC Safari, driven by a 40-year-old man from Yarmouth, who was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Isuzu truck, who was not identified by State Police, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash. The Brewster Fire and Police departments and MassDOT assisted troopers at the scene of the crash.
