A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Stoughton on Thursday, the Stoughton Police Department said in a press release.
Authorities identified the pedestrian as Joaquin Soraes, 82. He died of his injuries, the Norfolk District Attorney confirmed in a statement.
The crash happened at Central Street, between Turnpike and Lincoln Streets in Stoughton around 6:14 p.m., police said. The driver, who has not been publicly identified, stayed on the scene, the DA said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, the DA said. As of Sunday, no charges have been filed.
