A body was found Friday afternoon in the Lower Mill Pond in Easthampton, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
The body, determined to be male, was found by a man and his son who were fishing in the area, according to Boston 25 News.
Officials said the body is likely a man reported missing from the area, 22-year-old Rodney Yankson. He’s been missing since Aug. 13.
According to the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Yankson was last seen near Pleasant Street in Easthampton, not far from the pond, on a black mountain bike at roughly 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
This incident remains under investigation by the Easthampton Police Department and the State Police Detective Unit of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
