A 17-year-old was hospitalized following a boating incident in Gilford, New Hampshire, on Lake Winnipesaukee on Tuesday, officials say.
At 4:56 p.m., the New Hampshire State Police responded to a report of an unconscious teenager in the area of Little Camp Island, according to a statement from the New Hampshire State Police.
The teenager was tubing with family members before things went awry. The teenager’s father attempted lifesaving measures aboard the boat before Marine Patrol officers arrived.
Sgt. Nicholas Haroutunian and Marine Patrol Supervisor David Jones boarded the boat and “continued those life-saving measures while communicating with a responding Gilford Fire Rescue boat,” the statement said.
The juvenile was brought to shore on the Gilford Fire Rescue boat and taken to Concord Hospital-Laconia. He was in critical but stable condition Wednesday, according to police.
