Robert J. Ostrye Jr. might be feeling like a million bucks right now. Scratch that — 4 million.

The New Bedford resident won a $4 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” game, a representative from the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement said Ostrye Jr. chose the cash option of his payout, receiving a one-time payment of $2,600,000. He told the Commission he plans on putting the money toward home renovations and “helping others.”

He bought the winning ticket at Jay’s Wine & Spirits in New Bedford while he was purchasing a birthday present for his friend, the statement said.
