A tree fell on a woman and a 1-year-old child in Wilmington on Sunday evening, authorities said.
At 6:10 p.m., Wilmington Fire Department received a call from a neighbor that a tree had fallen on a woman and child, Wilmington Fire Chief William F. Cavanaugh told Boston.com.
Upon arrival two minutes later, police found that the child had already gotten out from under the tree, but the mother was still trapped and needed help from Wilmington fire and police personnel, Cavanaugh said.
After freeing the woman from the tree, emergency crews brought the woman and child to local trauma centers with injuries. Officials did not have an update on their conditions as of Monday morning.
