Authorities are investigating the murder of a 44-year-old man who was found with multiple injuries during the pre-dawn hours in New Bedford on Sunday.
New Bedford police responded to 911 calls reporting gunshots on Earle Street around 1:37 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office. At the scene, they found a man, later identified as Aaron Britto of New Bedford, in the grass behind Morna Lounge and Grill and the residence at 234 Earle Street.
He was suffering from multiple injuries, according to the DA’s office. He was rushed by first responders to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The DA’s office said the investigation is active and ongoing.
