Two young adults from Duxbury killed in fiery Vermont crash

Police say speed contributed to the deadly crash.

In the early hours of Sunday, a single-car crash in Vermont killed two young adults from the South Shore, according to Vermont State Police.

The driver, Sean Delaney, 19, and his passenger, Elana Korey, 20, both from Duxubry, died at the scene of the crash.

At around 5 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the crash on I-89 north in Middlesex, which is just northwest of Montpelier.

First responders say they arrived to find the 2006 Lexus vehicle fully engulfed in flames and pronounced the driver and passenger dead at the scene.

Vermont State Police say speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Although it was foggy, the road conditions were clear, with low traffic.
