A large fire took hold of a mill building near the Massachusetts/Rhode Island state line in Woonsocket, R.I., early Monday morning.

Mutual aid — including the Pascoag, Harrisville, and Oakland Mapleville fire departments — was called in to help the Woonsocket Fire Department control the fire on Privilege Street, according to the Pascoag Fire Department

Massachusetts’ Mendon Fire Department also reported responding to the 4-alarm blaze in the vacant four-story mill, which is approximately 197,432 square feet, documents say.

The departments were still responding to the scene into the later morning hours.
