An 18-year-old man drowned in a Haverhill pond Sunday, police said.
Haverhill police responded to Plug Pond, also known as Lake Saltonstall, just after 1:30 p.m. after being told that the man was unaccounted for. Dive teams and other first responders searched the area throughout the afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m. the teen was found underwater, about 30 feet from the shoreline, police said.
The victim’s name has not been released. A Haverhill police spokesperson did not immediately return a request for information Monday morning.
